This is a group home service model with the unique characteristic of being available to anyone who meets eligibility criteria without a formal waiting list. Heart of Texas has two ICF group homes, one with eight female residents and a 6-bed co-ed residence. Each individual in these homes has access to various services, including Day Habilitation, independent living skills training, supported employment, nursing, dental, adaptive aids, and others. Like all of our services, the ICF program relies on the individual expressing what they think they want and need, and the program is figuring out a way to provide just that.
Eligibility for ICF/ID: Adults and children diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities who meet the Level of Care 8 criteria. This means the person must have a valid Determination of Intellectual Disability or qualify under an identified related condition with an IQ of 75 or below. Individuals do not have to be in other services with Heart of Texas to qualify for placement in our ICF/ID group homes. We have two ICF group homes in Waco and serve 14 people in the ICF program.
