HOTBHN Partners with Local Business To Help Reduce Youth Homelessness
WACO, TX – The Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network (HOTBHN) Housing and Homeless Services Program and January Letterpress, a custom stationery and printing establishment, have united for a cause.
January Letterpress, located at 700 Franklin Ave Unit A, Waco, TX 76701, has graciously offered 50% gift back of all sales this coming Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. to go towards reducing youth and young adult homelessness.
Nicole Wiscombe, Director of Housing and Homeless Services at the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network states, “This will be a gift-back event on December 10th where January Letterpress will be donating 50% of their proceeds to the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) at HOTBHN, which includes the DOBEY Drop-In Center, YHDP Navigation Team, Heart of Texas Transitional Crisis Housing for Youth (HOTTCHY), and the Supports to Aid Rapid Rehousing and Skills for Keeping Young Adults Engaged (STARRSKY). We are going to use the funds to support the needs of homeless youth not covered by our grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.”
This event will provide a much-needed opportunity to bring in funding for the YHDP program and spread youth homelessness awareness within our six-county region. Since the inception of the DOBEY Drop-In Center in March of last year, more than $600,000 of awards have been given to HOTBHN’s work towards the homeless youth. Smaller items are still needed, such as food, hygiene products, and other daily necessities.
Youth homelessness services are readily accessible, trauma-informed, sustainable, and offer holistic care. These services ensure that any occurrence of youth homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring. Services are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information please call (254) 297-8980 or visit https://www.hotbhn.org/about/waco-facilities/dobey-center.
