Veterans One Stop Patron & Veteran of Three Wars Receives Formal Resolution of Service

98-YEAR-OLD VETERANS ONE STOP PATRON RECEIVES FORMAL RESOLUTION OF SERVICE

WACO, TX – Ira Walton, who served in three wars in his 30-years of military service and has been a patron at the Heart of Texas Region MHMR Center’s Veterans One Stop since 2015, formally received a resolution of service at the Veterans One Stop in Waco on Tuesday, August 10.

State Representative Charles “Doc” Anderson’s advisor, Elaine Slaughter, made the presentation at a gathering of Mr. Walton, a few local veterans, as well as the media representatives from KWTX-TV (CBS), KXXV-TV (ABC), and the Waco Tribune-Herald.

Veterans One Stop Program Supervisor Bobbi Stewart says Mr. Walton has been a regular for Wednesday lunches and other big events. Stewart added Mr. Walton played table tennis and gave free lessons to younger veterans.

Mr. Walton is one of around 2,000 veterans the One Stop serves each month. The One Stop estimates it sees about 200 new people each week.
